Brussels: The Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja FarooqHaider Khan has called upon international community to take notice of abuse of human rights in the Indian occupied Kashmir under the draconian laws imposed by India to curb struggle of people of Kashmir fors their right to self –determination. Condemning the new offensive launched by the Indian forces in the form of pellet guns,, he said that the situation demanded an immediate investigation of the situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir.
He expressed these concerns in his key note address at a conference held at the Parliament of European Union in Brussels. The conference entitled ‘Blinded by Power: Black laws, Pellet Guns and Kashmiri People’ was chaired by MrSajjadKarim, MEP.
Raja Farooq said that the international community was not fully aware of the plight of Kashmiri people who were being supressed by the Indian forces of occupation through brutal use of force. He said that it was important to expose these unprecedented human rights violations to the world to bring Kashmir issue on priority in the agenda of the United Nations.
“The international community should play its role in stopping the unlawful and inhuman use of pellet guns in the Indian Occupied Kashmir which has been a major cause of serious injuries among young people resulting in deaths of hundreds and permanent blindness of thousands of innocent Kashmiris” he added.
